I never understood why writers always talk about themselves in the third person on their own website.

Maybe I missed the memo.

I’ve always considered myself a writer, and some of my earliest memories involve a pen and paper. I have a way with words, and my willingness to accept honest (even brutal) criticism about my work has only made me a stronger wordsmith. I’ve tackled a wide variety of subjects, although I am most comfortable when talking about cars.

I learned about automobiles early on, mostly because my constantly evolving (and revolving) collection of cars is always breaking down. I learned to take care of my cars myself through the impatient tutelage of my father, although that doesn’t mean I always get it right. I’ve blown up my fair share of cars, too. That is a learning experience in and of itself. But through it all, my love of all things four-wheeled has remained intact.

When I say my love of all things four-wheeled, I really mean it. I’m a huge fan of classic muscle cars, lead sleds, hot rods, and all manner of customizable metal. That hasn’t stopped me from enjoying contemporary offerings either, and I am as much a fan of drifting competitions as I am of road courses and F1. And while I believe we can all glean a little wisdom from the past, I enjoy speculating on the future too. I have a burning passion for alternative fuel vehicles, and I cannot wait to see what cars the next few years brings to market.

But back to my writing.

I’m a recentĀ  graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a minor in Journalism. I’ve been published in several local and national publications (check out my Published Works page) and I currently do daily news blogs for two companies, PowerTV and Gas2.org. In addition to Gas2.org, the websites I write for are StangTV.com, LSXTV.com, StreetlegalTV.com, and Dragzine.com. I enjoy using the Internet as a medium to showcase my work, though I am also working on several different fiction novels at any one time.

So in a nutshell, that’s me. If you want to know more you can find me on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Flickr, or just contact me directly by email at demorro@gmail.com.
